Dry season, green season and how to choose the right resort for your trip.
The Maldives has two main seasons. From November to April the northeast monsoon brings dry, sunny days and calm, clear water, which is ideal for snorkelling and sunsets. This is peak season, so book early for Christmas and Easter.
From May to October the southwest monsoon brings more cloud and short tropical showers. The islands are greener, resorts are quieter and prices can be noticeably lower, which makes it a smart choice for honeymooners on a budget.
Whichever month you choose, the resort matters more than the date. We match you with islands that fit your style: barefoot luxury, family-friendly reefs or remote atolls reached by seaplane.
